Teaching / Clinics
In my years of playing I have been fortunate to have studied with some very fine teachers and I enjoy passing that information on to others. My teachers include Frank Renolds (Toronto Symphony), Dave Elesheman (trombonist and teacher at Cal State Haward), Slyde Hyde (top Los Angeles studio and jazz trombonist) and also the jazz great Bill Watrous.
Brass players need to do some basic things to keep our sound. Long tone drills saved my playing career after a very serious lung infection that disturbed my playing in a very serious way. This knowledge saved me from having to stop playing and restored my sound. My brass instruction focuses on SOUND, SIGHT READING, HARMONIC TRAINING and JAZZ IMPROVISATION for the students who wishes to master solid jazz improvisation.
I have taught at the following music stores as well as many years of private home lessons and at my studio.
