Brief History
My first Jazz influence at age twelve was listening to a Chet Baker recording. Many years later, I was invited by Chet to sit in with him several times in the mid 1980's, which was a great musical thrill. Other strong influences include valve trombonist Bob Brookmeyer who inspired me to play valve trombone, and the early works of Miles Davis.
My Cool Jazz Trio and sometimes Quartet have performed at many of the best Jazz clubs in Los Angeles including Spazio's, The Hip Kitty, Jax Bar & Grill, Vitello's, The Left Coast Wine Bar and more. We have also preformed for many private parties and events in the Los Angeles area.
Currently both CD's " Jazz Time " and " Speak Softly " have received repeated radio air play in the USA and Europe, and we have had thousands of youtube hits from our Los Angeles performances. The focus is on tasteful melodic playing, influenced by the Cool West Coast sound that has been my inspiration.

" Barry Mosley is one of the leading valve trombonist on the Jazz scene today. His rustic warm tone and lyrical style is uniquely his though his playing shows a great respect for the masters of the valve trombone that have come before him. Masters such as Bob Brookmeyer and Rob McConnell. Barry continues in this rich tradition while having found his own lyrical voice on this wonderful instrument "
